Artist statement

The prototype failed eleven times. The twelfth version is the one you see here.

The work began from a photograph taken on the way home, and grew into a study of how a familiar place changes when you look at it twice.

Jury comment

Technically accomplished. I would like to see this creator take a larger risk next cycle — the craft is already there.
